meet peter

Peter Greene is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, college professor, husband, and father of four.

He holds degrees from Westmont College, the London School of Economics, and the University of Notre Dame. He has taught college courses on subjects ranging from martial arts and ethics to political Islam, war and genocide in the ancient world, U.S. foreign policy, and other similarly uplifting topics.

Peter founded and served as head instructor of Monadnock Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Swanzey, New Hampshire, for eight years, where he spent his time helping people solve their problems by making them very physically uncomfortable.

This blog is a place for Peter to expand on his thoughts about jiu-jitsu, philosophy, history, politics, travel, books, parenting, and whatever else happens to occupy his attention long enough to make it onto the page.

Peter now resides in Fort Myers, Florida, where he divides his time between training, reading, and being endlessly corrected by his children.
